  1. I am very new to the life of VCD's and I need a few minutes of someone’s time. I recently bought an ATI TV Wonder card and I have installed it along with the accompanying software.

My question is this... I can watch TV on my PC so I record a clip and save it as whatever.mp2... Now what do I need to do to watch what I recorded? When I just try to launch it I get nothing!.!.!

I am going to be on AIM all night so please AIM me or email me if you can help.

What you need to do is figure out what compression codec that you're using. If it's an MPEG 1/2 codec ( which it's probably not) then you should be able to play it in Windows Media Player. If It's Mpeg-2 then you might need to download the MPEG-2 Codec located on this site in the tools section. If it's not MPEG then it's avi and you should save it as Whatever.avi and then you can play it in Windows Media Player. You should only use the .mp2 file extention for mpeg sound files. Try changing the Filename to Whatever.avi and then double-click on it. It should play.

    Hope this helps!...

  3. Thanks so much for your help... After downloading the Codec I was able to watch what I recorded....

Now I just need to figure out the best way to compress these little clips so I can post them on the internet.

Can anyone point me to a tool to do that?

    Sincerely,

  4. Congratulation to MCanes...

I am also a very new person to VCD recording who desperately need guidance. Can you describe the systems specification you had?

I recently purchase the Pinnacle Studio VCD card to capture video clips into *.mpg format from a VCR. However, I faced many problems like audio and video not in sync. I don't know what is the problem... can anyone out there please help.

    My system specification is:

    HP Pavilion 9710 Pentium 3 866Mhz
    320Mb RAM
    Direct AGP video graphics
    11MB UMA video memory

    Thanks a lot in advance.
