I recently decided to change the way I'm storing my DVD's. I am now storing my DVD's in plastic sleeves that hold 2 DVD's each. I was wondering after I began the changeover if it's the right thing to do. Is the soft material that is touching the data side of the DVD OK for long term storage? Will heat cuse the material to damage the data? Does anyone have any info on DVD storage that could help me?

  2. I've been storing my DVD's like this for some time without a problem. Where would the heat come from? Any disc can be affected by excessive heat so I would avoid it. As long as the disc isn't getting scratched, then it should be okay and that goes for BOTH sides of the disc, not just the data side. Sometimes it is worse if you scratch the label side.
