  1. I was going to purchace a sony dvd-rom or the panasonic dvd-rom
so I can start making vcd's..........I was looking at the Creative Sound Blaster DVD-rom and it has a decorder thing included and the sony doesn't. If I purchase the sony dvd-rom drive is that enough along with my burner to start making vcd's or do I need to purchase something else.
    Please help!

In consideration of "DVD Ripping", the Lite-On 16X DVD-ROM reigns supreme. Also, the Lite-On has superb DAE ripping (for audio disc ripping). I will buying one myself soon. =] Right now I own a Pioneer 16X Slot DVD-ROM which is great, but I'm building a new system soon and the Lite-On DVD-ROM is going to be one part of it.
