Ever since installing this, I can no longer use my Roxio, which for some of my applications is preferable, and my players for video files are not quite as they should be. Also created a problem for my printer.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks in advance

I believe you have something else going on. Or you can try uninstall, check to see that everything works again, and reinstall.

I've both on my machine too and have never had a problem with either. Granted, though, I don't use Roxio very much as I prefer IMGBurn.

Yea seems odd. IMGBurn wouldn't affect a printer. check viruses, spyware and do try cleaning and defraging HDD

  7. No problems with Imgburn here either. I suspect you installed Real Player, Quicktime, or something else.

I've made a plugin for ImgBurn for BartPE, all that really means is that I've had to take an in depth look at what files and registry settings ImgBurn needs to function. Whit that being said.

ImgBurn just uses the Exe, it may call upon a DLL or two in the system32 folder but they are there by default and it can operate without them. It only affects anything while its running.

This isn't the old style nero, it doesn't change your aspi layer or spti (I can't remember what that one is accuratly) at all, so if you are having these issues it isn't ImgBurn.

It's more likely IMHO that Roxio is cracking the shits that you dared to install any other burning app
    If in doubt, Google it.

  10. Just for grins, what is it you use Roxio for? I ask because I used to "need" Roxio for burning data CDs and DVDs, but now Deep Burner can take care of that for me quite nicely. Everything else that Roxio did was easily done with other freeware apps, at least for me.

Roxio is just like nero in many ways , once in , its a pain if they screw up the system in anyway .

Firstly , disable the idiot startup tool for roxio that sits in the system tray .

    Download hijackthis : http://www.merijn.org/files/HiJackThis_v2.exe

Install , scan , disable all non-essential programs running in the background , by placing a check in their box .
Such things as quicktime , adobe update , msn messenger update , ect .
    Hit fix all .

It creates a backup as well before it dose anything .

    Reboot system .

    ----

These products will be called by the system when required , and thats how they should behave in the first place .

System runs much faster without the crap loading up from start .

    ----

Install avgfree + adaware se , update both , use both to scan system for issues .

For adaware se , when done , click little yellow padlock , delete backups , you do not want this stuff .
For avgfree , make sure virus vault is empty before attempting to go online (service may be denied till items removed) .

    Try imgburn once more .

    ----

Of course you havent provided any details of you current system , so , if your running xp , beware of xp updates , they can trigger such issues .

I see your point, but I keep Roxio around for one reason and one reason only. When I burn a music disc, every other burning engine I've used puts a small but audiable artifact in at the beginning of each track.

Now, it might have something to do with the fact that I always remix/remaster in Adobe Audition. Something about those actions could affect other burning engines.

I've never had any introductory noise using Roxio.

That's why I keep it around.
