I just noticed that my printer does have a USB connector on it. I've been using the LPT port all this time. I assume that I can now toss the LPT cable and connect it to my PC via my USB port and save the IRQ and all? Any downside to this? I mean don't all new printers come with USB ports, so in theory I can toss my LPT cable and disable the port, correct?

What else are you using your LPT port (or IRQ 7) for? Why crowd the USB bus?
Nothing can stop me now, 'cause I don't care anymore.

I only use the USB port for my digital camera and thumb drive. and even then only when they are plugged in.

Windows 2000. I figure that I am better off disabling anything that I don't actually use. Reduces the clutter.
