Hi, im having problems with rippid one of my DVD's, Im using DVD Decrypter to rip episodes from my Family Guy DVD, but when i rip the files, and play them it has the wrong time stamped on the file, for example.

    Video Stats
    Title: Death is a Bitch
    Video Time: 22:35

When i rip the episode i get the time being
    Video Time: 6:45 (estimate)

but the weird thing is that the episode is full, it plays the the whole episode, but the time just goes from 0:00 to 6:45, but in reality it is suppose to be 22:35.

This is really bugging me, i have tried ripping it as a IFO file, and also as FILE using DVD Decrypter. Any help would be appreciated.

Well the the ripped output file is a DVD type, and im using Nero Showtime to check the time. The time is just completely wrong though, and the worse part is when i try to encode the file to a WMV, it either cuts the files into different times (multiple files), or it just encodes the files with the wrong time as well. Will a picture help? i can get a screenshot if you like?

  4. If you play the ripped file with MPC what is the time it reports?
You are encoding to WMV. What application are you using to encode?

Now the time being shown with WMC is 11:15, also i have tried using Video Charge Software, with this program after encoding it would split the files into pieces, using Windows Media Encoder it does not split but the time is wrong.

When i was using VideoCharge Software, i remember that the IFO file had lots of VOB's now i don't understand what that means but it had lots of them, all of them split.

  8. Well, I think you play in MPC a vob file (if it is a m2v file then the time can not be correctly shown!).
I think you should rip in IFO mode. In this case presumably one PGC would contain one episode. About a single IFO with many VOB's you may want to check at this page left up "WHAT IS" "DVD" to look for the structure.
You said you can post a screenshot? Yes, load the file you ripped in GSpot and post a screenshot of the file analysis.

  10. The extension of the file should be vob. If you do not see the extensions of the files (stupid Windows default) go to my computer-> extras->Folder options View tab and uncheck "hide file extensions for known files" (or something similar - it was ages I setted it last time).
Why thisa happens? I really don't know, but I would not trust Nero for anything beyond burning.

The file is a VOB, and here is some screenshots with the file using VideoCharge Software

On this pic, you can see the time of the file being 5 minutes, when it is supposed to be 22 minutes.

  12. Well, that is when I said "I do not trust". Your vob files are showed as 640x480 resolution and this is not DVD compliant. They should be 720x480.
Maybe you didn't realyse i did edit one of my posts. Better use GSpot and crop the images - they are not very well to watch.
    Maybe this will help:
