Hi - I have 3 x 1hr children's dvd's each of which has a menu from which I can select which episode I want to play or just select play all. I'd like to put all 3 x 1h dvds onto one 3hr DVD disc. I know it's possible to do that but the bit that I don't know is how this will affect the menus for each. Will the main menu just be the menu for the first dvd I copy? I'm basically trying to achieve having a main menu with the sub menus for all 3 dvds on the one screen. Would this happen automatically in the burning? This may be a very naive question as I personally can't see how this would happen automatically.
I've got DVD Decrypter, DVD Shrink and Imgburn and would appreciate advice as to if this is possible and if so, how (in easy step by step explanation)
Hoping someone can help.
Many thanks and regards....Celine

dvdremake pro would be able to join all movies and keep the menus, see https://www.videohelp.com/guides.php?guideid=702&howtoselect=6;30#702
just using free tools wouldn't be that simple though. -
Baldrick, thank you for your replies (including that to my second posting which you have locked). I consider my wrist well and truly slapped. I had thought this forum was for newbies like myself to ask such questions without fear of such a scolding reply you posted on my 2nd post as below:

The reason I posted a 2nd question was because after posting my first (mainly asking about menus), I realised that once I'd copied the 3 dvds to my hard drive including the menu, I then couldn't seem to copy them back to one disc. I didn't know if this was because of the menus or just my ignorance of how to use Shrink, Decrypter and Imgburn. So my 2nd post was asking mostly how do I even get 3 dvd's onto one disc. I'm actually still stuck right now as to how to do this but am too scared to ask any further.
I did look through all the guides you've given me links for (the first link was different to that above and I've looked through that too) but sorry, I couldn't find what I was looking for. It's very good at telling me how to copy 1 dvd to another but not multiples to one dvd.
I don't particularly want to download any more software to have to sort it all out. I'd rather just copy the 3 original dvds to 3 blank discs which I know how to do and which will preserve the menus.
I guess I was originally hoping for an answer such as "no, you can't use what you've already got to copy multiple dvd's with menus to a single dvd disc. Your only options with what you've got already would be to a) just copy all 3 main movies to one disc and have no menus or b) you'll have to copy each dvd to a seperate dvd disc if you want to keep the menus or c) buy other software which can do this and learn to use it.
I obviously didn't ask correctly for which I sincerely apologise. I obviously didn't understand your first reply for which I sincerely apologise. And the reason I didn't just continue on the first post was because I thought everyone would have seen you'd answered and not read or reply any further. I thought by simply asking a slightly different question a second time, I might get a slightly simpler answer. So again, sorry to have troubled you so much. I'll think very hard about ever asking a question again. -
Cheer up Celine, anybody that double posts gets the same message from any Mod , i'm sure it isn't personal
Have a look at this guide http://www.dimadsoft.com/dvdremakepro/ht_merge_full.php
He's a liar and a murderer, and I say that with all due respect. -
Steveryan.....thank you very much. You've cheered me up. I was a bit down because I've spent about 5 hrs today trying to work it out, reading links and guides etc and felt a bit sensitive when the mod posted his reply to my 2nd (now locked) post and I also felt pretty stupid! I know I shouldn't take it personally and mostly don't. He just caught me at the wrong time in the wrong mood and feeling desperate.
Nice to know there are still helpful gentlemen out there. And you're link looks most interesting and at a level I can understand so I will certainly make use of it and learn from it.
I have now burned all 3 individual dvd's onto individual discs which I'll probably stick to in future, all for my 4 yr old to have a Bob The Builder collection! He and I both thank you again very very much. Best wishes.....Celine
