    Hello,

I am new to all this dvd burning lark and am not sure what I am doing wrong. I have some AVI files which I want to burn to dvd and watch on my dvd payer. I originally done this using the DvX codecs and DivX dvd burner, but they won't work as my player does not support DivX movies.

I have since tried using Video DVD Maker Free but it says I don't have the correct codecs! Any tips???

ConvertXtoDVD to convert the avi files to DVD.
    One movie per disc.
    Burn with ImgBurn.

Thank Gunslinger - are there any free programmes that I am able to use for this?? I thought Video DVD Maker would be able to do it as it says it can?? Also, any way I can put more than one onto a disc? Each oe is about 45 minutes long, 350MB...

DVD Flick, AVI2DVD, TheFilmMachine are all free. ConvertXtoDVD is just incredibly simple, fast, and covers a much wider range of source material. If you mostly have Divx/Xvid avi files then any of those listed above will work.

45 minutes episodes - you can probably go to 4 without overly compromising your quality (given the quality is only OK to begin with). Be prepared for all the flaws that aren't as obvious on your PC to become very obvious when you convert. There is little you can do about this, other than to get better quality source.

Thanks Gunslinger - will give it a go. Having looked at the reviews, am going to crack on with DVD Flick.

Heres hoping, and once again - thanks!!
