  1. I need cheap or medium price player for an organization I belong to that will play CD's or DVD's (DVD not mandatory) that have jpegs on them and will show a menu based on the folders on the CD or DVD. I have a HDVR that does all this and lets you set the duration for the picture and inserts transitions if you want it to. It brings up each folder on the menu.
I tried one cheap Phillips and it plays jpegs and it will take them in folders but it just starts with the first folder and continues as if there were only jpegs on the CD. You can't bring up any menu where you pick which folder to start with. I don't know where this post really belongs and never realized it was such a pain to find something cheap to feed jpegs to a video projector. Thanks

The LG-DN191H will do everything you want except transistions. The duration can be set to 4, 8, or12 seconds. It will aslo acept JPEGs and Divx/Mpeg movies on a SD memory card.

It is an upscaling DVD player and will display JPEGs of 1920x1080 and higher in HD over component or HDMI.
