    Hi

I need to make hq video clips and I need a way for clients to join them together. I am using mpeg1 at 6000kbs but if I use ligos in premier to make the clips then I get blank frames at the point the clips join. Do you know of a way to stop this?

Alternatively, if anyone could write a program to split high bit rate wmv or mpeg, have the individual parts playable with wmpalyer, then another to join them together seamlessly without re-encoding, I would be willing to pay (I hope this does not offend the board rules). Please let me know if you can help or know of somebody who could. Many thanks

    Bob

The WMV cutting and joining is very easy by using ASFbin.exe

cutting with the single frame accuracy,
    - saving segments to a separate ASF files
    - inverting selection, so you can easily point the fragment to be deleted
    - adding markers and commands (at last!)
    - delaying selected streams (not necessarily audio streams)
    - printing out information on key frames location
    - control over the type of indexing
    - cutting fragments adjusted precisely to key frames locations
    - showing various detailed data on processed files
    - precise file joining

If you want to auto cut and join, it would be best to determine how many pieces to cut. Let's just say every file will be split into 10 parts.

    Download asfbin:

Download lmod (assists the script in getting data)

    Download _Split_10.cmd

    _split_10.rar

Place all files into same folder as the .WMV file and click _Split_10.cmd to run

    When Done:

MPEG cutting and joining is a different story. Not many programs can do frame accuracy with Mpegs.

You could also consider something like HJsplit ( http://www.hjsplit.net/ ), which is a general file splitter. Can't guarantee the playback of individual parts though.
