Negative image to normal

Hi this is my first post here just like to say that very helpful website and forum but i cant find one thing how to do that bring me to my question...

I have an input devices that show a negative image i run this threw my capture card or tv card and of course it is still a negative image. What i would like to find is a program, filter whatever works that will let me watch it on the computer screen and make it look normal hopefuly with out haveing to capture it to a file and then convert it. I know that i dont want to capture it and this forum is for capturing but i couldnt think of anywhere else to put it.

Before you ask or suguest just to make clear...The input device puts out a negative image and it should so there is nothing wrong with my card, computer or device i just want to be able to see it normal on the computer screen. I dont think i need to put down what cards and computer i have coz i really only want a program thanks for your help

i assume you want to do this in real time , only device ive seen like this is used with film scanners and costs 75grand and up ..

you can do this on real time in playback with vegas (and some avid systems and perhaps some other systems (prob. video toaster)) , if you capture in DV and you can playback in real time and apply a real time color corrector curve to the preview window ..

you can do this in both fusion and shake but its not real time - just will creative a positive .

ok thank you. i got a copy of vegas video 3 would that do it or do i need a newer vertion and do u know where there is a guide or something that will show me how to do it. thank for all your help

im not sure about v3 .. all the good color stuff was in v4 .. just see if there is a color curve corrector and you can use that to make a positive . ..

i just got V4 and yes i can do it when i record and then do it to the file but i want to be able to do it in real time while it is streaming so any programs that do negative image or colour corection in real time would be great and a big help
