    Is it possible to crop a video and make it negative in one step (one encoding)?
    With which software, please?

    My source is a DVD, but I could make it an avi for the purpose.

    Virtualdubmpeg2 - Add the Invert filter to get a negative image, then click on Crop to set your cropping. Output and re-encode in one go.
