    HI All,

I have recently got an Philips 42" LCD TV. I want to be able to watch films (DivX etc.) from the Laptopon the TV screen. I got a HDMI cable and plugged in into the back of the TV and using a DVI adapter plugged the other end into the Laptop.

When I switch the extension to the HDMI the Destop appears but when I start the Windows Media Player it open up but there is no picture (sound if fine!)

Could any of you experts help out a novice like myself

    Cheers

I believe this has to do with video overlay and/or if you are using your TV as a second monitor or mirroring your laptop display. Check the video settings for video overlay options. You could also search on video overlay issues...I've seen this problem resolved in the past, I just don't remember the fix.

Also, ensure you have the latest video drivers.
