OK, I've tried everything I can, but I can't get the program to work! (this is probably said a lot) HOWEVER, I can't get it to work because I keep getting this stupid Apple Script error. I've tried all of the encoders and tools, but when I hit "Encode" an Apple Script message pops up saying "Can't get text item 2 of "[file path]". (-1728)" Now I have no Idea what this means, but I hope someone can tell me how to fix it!!!!!

Do you have any non-standard characters or spaces in the pathname of the source file?

Hmmm, well there are spaces in some of the files I'm trying to convert, but there are some without any spaces, and those won't work either. They still give me that stupid AppleScript error

Other threads with the same error message suggest that it may have to do with (1) the names of the volumes (disks), (2) the location of (path to) ffmpegX, or (3) the localization language of OS X not being English.
    • Is the name of your startup disk and the disks with movie files free of spaces and 'special' characters (i.e. apostrophe)?
    • Is ffmpegX in /Applications; not in a subfolder?
    • See post #1637435 for a fix for other localizations.

Once again, I've tried everything, and I still get that stupid message! BUT, I read in other threads that making a new user account and running it on that will work, I tried that and it did! However, it's not working entirely. I'm trying to convert a 5.1 channel AIFF file to a 5.1 AC3 file, and it WILL NOT WORK. It'll semi-work, it'll encode, and a working file will appear, but when I open it up, it's just this static, and you can vaguely hear the sound of the file behind it all. What do you think happened now?

  6. AIFF is not a supported format, sorry. The best application for multichannel AIFF to AC3 is probably A-Pack from Apple (an utility which used to ship with DVD Studio Pro).

Does anyone have A.Pack, and could anyone email it to me or something? Because I don't wan't to buy a $2000 package just to get a simple Dolby converter.
If someone can, PLEASE send it to me: kngfoo2200@yahoo.com
