MacPro Dual 2.0GHz
3Gig Ram
Two nVidia 7300's
I just installed my second nVidia 7300 card in my top PCIe slot (8x) and the Mac displays three desktops. I attached my HDTV monitor via DVI and all works great.
I playback my video from Final Cut Pro and the HDTV turns white.
If I plug the HDTV in the original nVidia card (which makes my HDTV become my second monitor) I get full HD playback.
Why won't my new card play back video? I can see a still frame when I skip around frame at a time. But as soon as I hit play, it turns white.

I Hate to tell you this, but I think some information got misunderstood,
and I'll take the blame if it is my fault.
If you wanted to just VIEW THE DESKTOP over the space
of THREE monitors, then yes you would need either the
box I described, or another video card like you purchased
for doing so.
If you wanted to VIEW PLAYBACK FROM THE TIMELINE of
FCP, this must be done through FW and out to a analog/dv
converter and then to the viewing monitor of your choice.
Desktop signal video is a different video signal than
the broadcast video signal put out via the timeline
for NTSC ( or PAL) viewing from FCP.
The manual is pretty clear about this, and shows you how
under Prefernces in FCP you set the output of the broadcast
by going to the View Menu->Video Playback-> and select
the FW device plugged in.
You can try and see if it will let you change it to other
and select your NVidia Card, but I have a feeling it won't.
Others have tried, and have been unsuccessful.
Good luck trying though.

I want to be able to watch 720p on my HDTV instead of my second CRT monitor.
The broadcast specs will come later as I will color correct to the proper levels for TV (when I down convert it to 480p).
The main reason is to A) watch 720p as I'm editing and B) to watch the footage to make sure the picture is in focus. We have edited projects at 50% in just the Canvas and once burned to DVD, a few shots were out of focus.
In a perfect world, I'd spend $5k on a broadcast calibrated TV for HD and SD.
If I hookup my CRT monitor to one DVI and the HDTV to the second DVI (on the same nVidia card) I get 720p playback. It's when I hook up two CRT's to both DVI's on one card and add the HDTV on the second video card that makes the screen go white when I play the video. I see the still frames and can scrub through. -

So what's wrong with this scenario? Put the second CRT on the Second bought Card,
and you should still have Desktop on it right? The goal is to get 720p playback,
not try to put all CRTs on one card, and all HDTV monitors on one card.
or am I missing something? If you set it up like above, what issues do you incur?"Everyone has to learn, so that they can one day teach."

No, you are right:
===================
nVidia 16x DVI ____ CRT
\____ CRT
nVidia 8x DVI______ HDTV
===================
All works for desktop space. If I arrange them like so:
===================
nVidia 16x DVI ____CRT
\____ HDTV
nVidia 8x DVI _____ CRT
===================
I get the same issues. I have to arrange the desktops around a lot, but same issue ... White Frame.
