Hi,sorry for asking if you are ecoding/capturing etc why would you want a screensaver running which slows down everything??,i have been lurking for a long time but it seems that some people just dont read basics,no screensavers no antivirus no firewall all interfere with capture or encode i have learnt by reading many posts and recomendations and make great caps and recodes just by following BASIC guides, thank you to all who have bothered to post, as you can see this is my first post but I feel its such a shame that some people just WILL NOT LOOK ,regards to all.

I think we need more information.

Is it all screensavers or just one, or a few?

Do you have Administrator rights on the PC?

Do you get any error messages?

Since your profile says you are running Windows XP SP2, if you try to run a screensaver that is designed to use some of the graphics and ActiveX features supported by Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 (such as the Windows Aquarium program), it will not work in regular Windows XP. since you say you can previewit, this seems unlikely to be the problem. In any case, you usually get a message from Windows telling you about this, but there could be some other compatiblity issue, especially if it is only one or a few screensavers with which you have the problem.

Is it all screensavers or just one, or a few? All of them...

Do you have Administrator rights on the PC? Yes

Do you get any error messages? No.

I have always kept the same screen saver on my computer. However, ever since I downloaded many DVD rip programs, it does not work.

Have you tried this? Really, it's worked for me when I've had the same problem. You can set it back to 1 minute afterwards.
