  1. OK, i tried the CRC patch that some one sent me (thanks whoever it was) and it looks like it got CCE working ok......anyway, DVD2SVCD went through a full run.

What i dont understand is that in DVD2SVCD I set the number of discs to use to 3 CD's (800's)

If you take a look at the log below you will see what the output was.....not surprisingly i wasnt particularly impressed with the output (but not surprising considering max bitrate was 2000)

I thought that DVD2SVCD chose a bitrate that would fill the number of CD's that you have selected?

What u can see from teh log is that the first CD is crammed to the brim, while the second CD is less than half full and the third CD has nothing on it at all (except i think the title pic)

Can anyone set me straight here please?

I would love to get this working properly so that i could do a decent comparrison between CCE and TMPGEnc.

    Thanks.

  3. Heh, now wonder you get bad result. Try setting the Q Factor to 5

    Q 70 = really really bad

Besides, there is no way to calculate the proper filesize when using 1 pass vbr, as there is no such thing as an Avg. Bitrate in 1 pass vbr. So if you want to be sure to get good quality and perfect filesizes either user multipass or CBR (however, cbr is not as good in quality as multipass)

  4. thanks alot!!! ill give it a whirl.....

P.S. does the Q factor in CCE have a counterpart in TMPGEnc?

    (just for comparison purposes)

also for best quality you need to do 3 passes on CCE, 1 pass will yield allot of blockiness.

In TMPG the Q(uality) range is 0-100 (100=highest), in CCE the
Q(uantization factor) range is 0-300 (0=highest). The average Q range according to the cce manual is 40-80. Q=5 comes quite close to CBR.
