this past weekend i converted some of my dvds into vcds. well they work fine on my standalone dvd player but when i tried them on my mothers and my brothers it played them but the image on the tv looked like a scrambled cable channel (rolling frames, static, black and white). I did these vcds in pal format. is there a way i can fix them so i will be able to play them on other dvd players. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

You mentioned that you did the VCDs in PAL format. What format is your TV, and what is the format of the other TVs and DVD players you played them on. Sounds like the other TV/DVD players were NTSC (American). Some DVD players can handle either PAL or NTSC and others can't. It sounds like that is probably the situation here.
