I am looking for portable with sharp picture, bookmarking, good battery life, nice clean design and that will play XVID files. The 8.5" screen SD-P1850 looks o.k. and as they are discontinued I see Best Buy on-line has them for US$123. However, Toshiba has come out with a 10" screen model with twice the resolution and 6 hour battery. MSRP is $299. but on-line prices are around US$250 when they become available.
Anyone know when the SD-P2900 will be shipped to the retailers? Do you think a portable player with 800X400 and progressive scan should be about as good as you can get? Anyone see one of these demo'd somewhere? Anyone know of a link to a professional review on this model? (I could not find anything, just the Toshiba preliminary spec)
P.S. I wrote to Toshiba to ask about the shipping date and expect to hear something in a few days.
