    Hi, I have some old VHS tapes I want to capture.

    Playback of the tapes starts OK and then the picture becomes white noise.

    If I fast forward or rewind the picture is visible during this but is white noise again during actual playback.

    Other newer tapes play OK.

    Any Ideas?

    Dirty tapes.
    Try cleaning it before using.
    At least that's what happened to me lots of times and the dirty tapes were the problem.
