I have a sony minidvd handicam, and over the last few years, have amassed about 100GB in family home movies. I put them all on a nice HDD in separate folders, straight copies of the VIDEO_TS directories.
Now I want to create an index and lots of content tags for of all of the segments, with easy links to launch the videos. I thought I'd use Windows Media Player, since I haven't seen any other products available. ( know of something better? )
The problem I'm having with ver. 11 of media player, is it searches the drive to add to the media library, but doesn't my videos to the list of available media...like it's not recognizing the files as media.
Separately though, in explorer, I configured all *.vob files to launch media player, and it works great. So I can play the files, but can't get media player to let me create a "video playlist".
Possibly I'm doing something wrong.
Also tried to find a Microsoft contact without success.
Appreciate your guideance,
Chris
