My 500Gb SATAII drive is doing very well but rapidly filling up with video editing and DVD mastering. I want to keep minimum of data after burning master DVDs. First thing I do is delete the captured video clips, if my editing works OK.
Problem is next: Do I keep my .mpg master, .mpv and audio demux separate masters or my VIDEO TS files?

I now use TPMGEnc DVDAuthor3 (instead of DVDLab) as it is much more friendly and also allows me to lift stuff off my DVDRAM disk library to save in favourite DVD compilations. That releases space on the RAM disks - I haven't gone over to PVR HDD recording yet. Again I will have to delete master files once the DVD compilations are complete.

Does anyone backup their video harddrives?

I'd go one step further and convert the DVD files to an ISO. VLC media player plays them fine and ISO keeps all those pesky VOB IFO and BUP files all in one container.

IDK where in TPMGEnc DVDAuthor3, I use GuiDVDAuthor and DVD Shrink and know where they are there. ImgBurn can also be used to make ISO files.
