  1. I was running windows media player 10. Awhile ago I was trying to clean up my system of old apps and now it won't work. When I try to play a DVD I get the error that the codec for that is not available. I did some troubleshooting including unistalling and reinstalling and still the same problem. I then upgraded to WMP11 and still the same problem. I then looked at some of my audio files and it won't play mp3 files that wmp10 created similar message codec not available. Also, it will not play commercial audio cds. I can play DVDs with an old player that came with my asus drive and Itunes can play the mp3s. Any suggestions? I also tried system restore but it will not go back that far.
