OK, let me start this off by saying that I'm not a noob when it comes to computers. Another thing - I have been a regular user of Media Player Classic and KMPlayer for the past few years.

    Here is my problem:

I decided to install the RC of Windows 7 and use it until next year to see whether I like it or not. After installing Windows 7, I installed all of my software. Everything installed flawlessly.

Today when I went to watch a foreign film, I went to load the subtitles for the film and nothing happened. I set lots of different settings, but still nothing happened. I couldn't figure out why the subs weren't loading, so I went ahead and tried a different software media player. This time I'd used the KMPlayer. Guess what? - nothing happened once again! No subs wanted to load for my DVDs.

What is wrong here? It's only DVD subtitles that aren't working as I've loaded some subs from AVIs and such.

No DVD subtitles want to load ever, and I'm confused as to why. When I was on XP, I used to watch movies nearly everyday with subtitles enabled and it worked flawlessly with no matter which software movie player I used.

Anyway, any help would be muchly appreciated since I am stumped here.

I have the same problem. I'm using windows 7 ultimate x86 and I'm using for many years media player classic and now media player classic home cinema. I can play with subtitle any avi or mkv file but the problem appears only I try to play DVD content. The translation refuse to be displayed with any settings I've made. I've tried with power dvd and vlc also but the result is the same. Maybe somebody will be able to give an answer.

    Thanks in advance!

  3. Sounds like VSfilter/DirectVobSub may not be working for you guys. Maybe reinstall it?
