  1. I'm doing back-ups of The Simpsons Season 9 with DVDShrink, and just putting them on single-layer dvds. What I'm wondering is, what "advanced setting" will give the best result for The Simpsons in the "Quality Settings" category. I'm doing the "perform deep scan analysis" for sure, but I'm wondering if I should also choose one of the following under the "Quality Enhancements":

    Sharp (default)
    Smooth
    Maximum Sharpness
    Maximum Smoothness

I wasn't sure if it's better not to use those with The Simpsons, or if one would give better video results over another since it's limited animation like The Simpsons is.

    Thanks!

I would use Maximum Smoothness. I have found it to be the best setting for "most" DVD's It will also take a little longer than the other QE settings to process. If you really want to get the best picture while still using all freeware tools, go with DVD-RB & HC Encoder.

The Simpsons sets will look fine with AEC max smooth and deep analysis. MUCH BETTER than not using them.
