    hi
I downloaded some video files from the net, they are in wmv format. The problem is, the name of the website is advertised in the middle of the clip or on the top corner, sometimes they are animated sometimes it just flashes. Is there any way to remove this promotion? thanks for the help in advance

Easily? No. There's a filter for Virtualdub called delogo(i believe there is another one too) that will "remove" some of it. It more or less covers up the logo by blurring surrounding pixels in it's a place. Works best on static logos especially if they are of the transparent variety. Flashing and animated is worse case scenario. Most likely not worth the effort....
