I am using Any DVD and AVS Video Converter 7 to rip a clip off of a Blu-ray disc. I have tried importing the clips into premiere CS4 for editing but I receive multiple errors and sometimes cannot import the clips at all.

I have tried AVI, .MOV, WMV. None work. Has anyone been able to do this? What format, codec, video resolution bitrate and audio settings were you using.

    Thank you!

Any help here. Someone has to have tried this before. The clip I need is for a anniversary party video and it's coming up soon. Please help if you have anything to offer.

Here are the different codecs that are available.

    MPEG 4
    Microsoft MP4
    IBM Motion
    MPEG 2
    Huffman Lossless Codec
    Uncompressed Microsoft Video 1
    Intel Indeo IYUV 4:2:0
    Ceinepack Radius
    FFDS
    M102, 103, 104
    M701, 704, 705, 702
    Matrox DVC Pro
    Matrox DVC Pro 50
    Matrox MPEG2

Which would you recommend and why?

  3. if it's h264 or mpeg2 blu-ray , you don't need to convert, premiere will accept it natively (.m2ts clips) , only vc-1 needs to be converted

if you had to convert, i would use huffyuv which might correspond to huffman lossless in your list , but huffyuv needs to be installed separately for it to work in premiere. Why use it? because it's lossless

if you don't care for a bit of quality loss matrox mpeg2 should work as well, if it's this version:
    http://www.matrox.com/video/en/support/windows/vfw_software_codecs/downloads/softwares/version1.0/

Use higher bitrates to minimize quality loss in your intermediate file
