my connection looks alright but i still get some light pixely signal loss. it is very noticeable on some of my finalized dvds (i usually record in xp and dub in flex mode...usually 2 hour discs). is there anyway i can improve my connection for a better quality hookup?
here is my current connection:
DirecTV Receiver to VCR (AV Cables...yellow white red)
VCR to Panasonic DVD Recorder (AV Cables...yellow white red)
DVD Recorder to TV (AV Audio Cables and Monster Cable S-Video)

The fewer connections the better. For instance, if you are recording from the DirecTV to the recorder, hook it up directly. Any cable and input/output connector can reduce quality. Also, composite outputs (yellow cable) are the lowest quality you can use.
In order of quality, worst to best: composite (yellow), s-video, component (red/green/blue), DVI/HDMI.
If you really need all of that equipment hooked up in that way, about the only thing you can really change is cables.Google is your Friend
