Hi everyone,
You all seem like a knowledgeable bunch and I'd love some help please!
I've got a Samsung Recordable DVD player and would like to be able to use it to record Sky TV (cable TV here in New Zealand). I've been using the recorder to simply play DVDs with no worries but can't get it recording Sky.
Could someone please have a go at explaining what I need to connect? I wonder if I need a splitter or extra cables?
Happy to give more specific info, just don't know what to tell ya
Thanks very much!

Welcome sarahholland
More info on that samsung ... specify model (we can use this to determine input / ouputs the unit has)
If the Sky TV box has av output .. you'd normally connect this to the recorders av input ... and have the recorders av output returned to tv input.
Simply turn tv on and select av input channel you would normally use to view dvd's ... then on the recording unit select the required source input and Sky TV should appear ... from there you should be able to record .
The only question is if any channels carry a signal which prevents copying / recording ... normally premium channels do.
