    I recently purchased a Dell XPS410. It has a TSSTcorp DVD+-RV TS-H553A drive and a
Sony combo CDRW DVD CRX310S drive.

I burned a video from the PC to a DVD+R disc. The video sounds fine when played from the PC hard drive. The video sounds fine when played back from the DVD in either of the PC DVD drives. However, the video has a loud buzz (as loud as the voices in the audio) when played back from either of my standard DVD players. I used Adobe Premiere Elements 3.0 to burn the DVD. Any suggestions on what to do? Should I use a different type of disc (I used a Sony DVD+R)? Do I need to adjust the audio level before I burn the DVD? Is this a hardware problem?

That doesn't sound like any sort of disc problem. I'm wondering if you might have a audio format mismatch that is not DVD compliant. About all I can suggest is to drop the original file in Gspot 2.60 and see what it says about the audio, then try the same with the converted file. The specifications of the DVD format are to the upper left on this page, under 'WHAT IS' DVD.

You may have to extract out the audio of the original file and convert it separately. I often use VirtualDub Mod and save out the audio as a WAV file, with full audio processing. Then I convert it to AC3 with ffmpeggui. (Aften may be better for this, but I haven't tried it yet.) Then I combine this with the converted video when I author to DVD.

    And welcome to our forums.

Fixed it! I listened closely to the audio when played from my PC DVD-ROM, and the buzz was there too. It just wasn't nearly as noticable.
Turned out to be a problem during capture. I was capturing the video/audio from a camcorder. This Sony camcorder has a video/audio 1/8 inch plug. Looks like a standard 1/8 inch stereo audio jack, but it has a video signal too. I was using the wrong cable/plug, and the buzz was from the video signal!
Thanks for the help, and the nice welcome!
