wmv to mpeg2 or DVD, what is the best way

i have some made for internet movies, released in segments/acts and available either wmv or QT formats

I DL the wmv formats, they are 720*480

convertX works to convert them, but i was wondering IF there is another program that will give even better quality video results

I've had good luck using the newly released TDA3 (TMPGEnc DVD Author 3) program. It will convert to either divx or Standard DVD.

Open it up, choose DVD or Divx, start a new project, add your clips, set any chapters, create a menu and let it convert to divx or convert to DVD and author as a DVD. Use the built in burning tool and burn.

As I say I have fed it WMVs, MOVs, FLVs, DVDs, Mpegs, Ogg and MKV.

As long as the proper codecs are installed and the files are not corrupt it works.
