I am creating a football highlight recruiting video for my high school son. I need some inexpensive software that will allow me to circle, highlight or point to my son before each play while the video is rolling so the viewer knows which player he is each play.
Any suggestions?

I use Pinnacle Studio Plus 10.7 with the "Magnify" filter (included with the Plus version) to circle and enlarge an area of the screen like you are describing. Sometimes slowing down the video and enlarging an area simultaneously to point things out (like a hard tackle!).
I'm certainly no professional, but I think it would do a pretty good job for Recruiting Videos.
Your computer details seem to be on the low side for video editing. Check out Pinnacle's site for Equipment Compatibility. -
