THis is my first post, hopefully of many. I am using ffmpegX on a Macbook C2D to encode some .ogm for iPod use. THe problem is that many of them contain an audio track, and I only want to encode the normal audio track. HOw can I select which track to extract from the video and use in the final .mp4?

I haven't run across any OGG Vorbis Compressed Video files.
If you could point me to one, I'll see if anything I have works.

I've been working on an application that will convert .ogm and .mkv files to a format that is dvd player friendly - MoKgVm2DVD. It won't convert your .ogm file to .mp4, but it will let you select and preview in mplayer the various tracks in the file. You can then convert the selected tracks to a .avi file format that you should be able to more easily manipulate using the various video editing tools available to mac users.

Note, MoKgVm2DVD is still very much beta (probably more like pre-beta). There are no instructions or Read Me yet, but hopefully it's fairly straightforward to use. Eventually I'll start a post here asking for beta testers, but until then, any feedback would be appreciated.

I will gladly give you some feedback after trying this program. I have many .ogm files that i would like to convert.

To add, using this program, it shows lots of promise. It is what I was looking for, albeit with a middle step still necessary to get the final iPod MP4
