Does the "Fix intermittent video “Jerky”" mean an official fix for the packed bitstream problem?

Downloaded this update about a week ago and have not installed yet. the make date of this upgrade is 8-10-2006.

Is there a way to check the version # prior to the install?
My unit was mfg in oct 2006 so I was unsure if I needed to update.

  9. This is not a new update. This is the same version - 37.06.42.29 - that was available on the Philips site since August. For some reason they renamed the "readme" PDF file, and updated the dates on the firmware page, but unfortunately nothing else is new ...
