I used DVD Shrink to cut certains chapters from a DVD and created ISO images. Results good, no problems.
Then I used ISOBuster to convert to vob. Results good, no problems.
Then VOB2MPG to create a mpg file for my ULead Disk Disc Creator. Result: Shakey and blocky video. I didn't even bother to burn to DVD with such bad results.
Any suggestions why such bad results.

Convoluted process. If you save to HDD folder out of Shrink you can skip the whole ISO stage completely.
VOB2Mpeg is a simple demux process, so it does not affect the quality.
This means the culprit is Ulead re-encoding the video. I would start looking at the settings to make sure it doesn't encode compliant material.Read my blog here.

Thanks Gunslinger.
However, I didn't encode or import to Ulead, just used WMP to check the mpg file.
So what do you save the chapters that I clip under DVD Shrink as. As those chapters came to onlu a few hundred mb file size, I just use the Backup function and created the ISO image.Never too old to learn -
A DVD Video disc contains a video_ts folder, and optionally an audio_ts folder. In the video_ts folder are the DVD files - .ifo, .bup and .vob. All DVD Shrink does is create this structure, then process it according to the output option you choose. If you choose ISO, it creates this inside a disc ISO. If you choose to HDD Folder instead, it just creates the folders on your HDD.
At present you are creating an ISO (300MB), extracting the ISO (another 300MB) and extracting the mpeg (yet another 300MB).
If you ripped with DVD Decrypter in the first place, you could rip in IFO mode, choose the chapters you want, and have them demuxed to the video and audio streams in one pass.
Or use Shrink, but skip the whole ISO/ISOBuster stage.
If Shrink does not do any compression then the results should be the same as the source. That said, WMP is a poor choice to review the video. Try Media Player Classic instead.Read my blog here.

The VOB video is probably deinterlaced by your player software, but not when you play the same video extracted as MPG. When played back on TV, they will however look identical.
In your process, there are 2 softwares capable of changing the video: DVDShrink and Ulead. The rest only packages it differently.
