I am now using a Yamaha DVD-C950 DVD/DVD-A/SA-CD changer, outputted to a Yamaha YHT-370 HTiB system (HTR-5935 Receiver, outputted to NS-AP5700 speaker package and YS-P3600 subwoofer). Why do I get slamming bass from the front channel speakers and the subwoofer when playing sources connected to the optical digital output and the front pannel stereo analog inputs, but not as much bass when playing the same DVD-VIDEO or audio CD, as well as some SA-CDs via the multi-channel analog input? My settings for the HTR-5935 receiver are as follows: speaker sizes set to large, bass routed to both the front channel speakers and subwoofer, crossover frequency 200Hz, and subwoofer phase set to reversed. My DVD-C950 DVD player settings are as follows: speaker sizes set to large, subwoofer set to on.
