Have a Vobblanker/pgcedit question. I'm splitting up a duallayer dvd - I can get the main menu/movie fine for one disc, but having slight problem with 2nd disc which I put the Bonus menu/3 bonus videos on: while playing, if I hit the sub-menu button on my remote, it will take me from video to menu, but if I hit the Menu button, I go to a black screen (I vobblanked out all the other menus). My player indicates I'm in the 2nd title. This seems to coincide with a note from pgcedit when I was setting the "Jump to pgc" macro to start with the Bonus menu:
Note: Title PGC "VTST2,1 TTN(0:00) Title 2" was last title called before your target menu was reached. It is still called (but not played)...so a valid resume point exists when the menu is reached.
I ran the "Delete uncalled for pgcs" but the problem remains.
How can I get eliminate this problem? There's also several extra pairs of Bup/IFO files that are left over from blanking. Would it be more effective to eliminate some of these? I could reauthor the 3 videos in TDA but the menu buttons wouldn't light up nicely like the real menu.

I think's you asked a good one here ... after 4 day's , not one reply .
Well then ... let's see what you have
You have the title's you wish to use ... and the menu required .
-------------
It can proceed in two method's .
1: Replacing nav command's to correct flow .
2: Rebiuld using my method .
You choose ...
------------
If you choose option 1 , then I'll need a snap of what pgcedit show's , is included in the project to work out the nav command's you need to use in order to fix the playback flow issue .
And what the menu makeup is ... pgcedit dose not show multiple menu cell info out in the open ... it reports B's .
So for that , you right click on menu item's that use multiple cell's and choose from popup menu "info: pgc" ... save this text file as
If it was by example , called vtsm 10 , lu 1 (en) , 20 ... then call it vtsm10-lu1-en-20 ... this way I'll now who the heck it belongs too .
From there , it get's easier .
Option 2 is my preferred method as it remove's the unused ifo , bup problem which some burning program's will pickup as an issue . -
Thank for offering to help.
I'm curious about both methods you mentioned.
I'm not exactly sure what info you need. I posted an image-link to the project. I right-clicked on each of the first 3 DVD menu items (in the image, it's 3b, 3b, 9b - 9b is the "Bonus" menu I'm trying to flag as the Main menu), and picked from the dropdown menu "Info: PGC" and copied the 3 blocks of text below. They're separated by 5 lines of "=" signs.
In this case, the main menus in 3b are there (I blanked them when I originally posted).

Ok ... look's like well have to approach this nutter from my point of view ...
I am not in favour of this so called "blanking" button trick , as nav command's need to be entirely removed for them within any project .
Unfortunately the picture posted is not complete ... so I cant mentally visualize the project as the left pane dosent show all content ... and the command data dosent seem to stem from vmg first-play pgc ... only referring to what has been posted here ... as vmg first play pgc may have command's nolonger linked to conetent that can cause issue's .. which you are currently experiencing .
I can see the association partially for "VMGM PGC 2" ... but I am not seeing all here ... but there dose appear to be some problem's with command's being used relating to what I refer to "lead into" content ... I wont go into that one right now ... it has only to do with user's wanting to split the content to to dvd 5's .
I am not entirely happy with some of the macro technique's used by pgcedit , and I'll leave those out ... there can be problem's with this method as being "hit and miss" .
So (1) should be scraped straight of the bat , especially if we are to remove file's not longer associated directly to non-available content ... it's better this way ... and avoids other scenarios that might crop up ... I now nero will complain about some ifo's .
Believe me , this is faster than having to reauthor the content from scratch .
-------------------------
Thank's to r0lZ for clearing up an issue I had with a recent project ... only minor bug ... make sure you have the latest version of pgcedit ... dont use older version's .
The problem with minor bugs is they can cause problem's unknown to the end user ... until it happens enough time's too warrant actual digging into ... seek and destroy as I refer to it .
------------------------
So for now ... we will get the basic's up .
This will depend on the room you have on C
See how much room that folder holding the dvd content is , and time's that by 3 ... if hd free space is greater than the total , then all is going to be fine for the steps involved ... the sum also includes such variables as system swapfile , and idiot recycle bin policy .
Ok ... all's fine ... then
A:
Create a new folder on C , and call it BJSfix .
B:
Lauch pgcedit , File , new dvd .
Aim it at that new folder .
You will be asked ... nstc or pal .
Select the appropriate choice as according to the original ripped content .
If you dont recall ... launch a second instance of pgcedit , and load the ripped dvd content
Click on any title , for ease , and hit CTRL + A
In this new box will be displayed the format used ... that's the choice you use .
C:
Now save dvd .
--------------------------
Reorganization :
What we are now going to do is , selectively import content into this new dvd .
As alway's , I advise to choose "copy" when importing content .
This way , if it get's all screwed up , you simply ...
A: Close pgcedit first .
B: Delete all the content from the new folder .
C: And start from scratch again .
I know that sound's a little weird , but trust me on this one ... it's safer
--------------------------
Ok , here it can get complicated ... so what I want you to do right now is
A: Go into the folder where the ripped content is held .
B: Change window's view of folder content to details , and hit F5
You will now beable to see the size of file's .
C: Playback each major vob to determine who is who .
D: When you see title1 being played (not the menu) , take notice of what it's id is
Example : VTS_02_1.VOB ... the ifo is called VTS_02_0.IFO ... this is only an example remember .
E: Back in pgcedit , File , Import VTST titles .
F: You will select the ifo that corresponded to that title vob only .
G: You will be asked a question regarding "copy" ... alway's select this feature .
H: Now wait (the bar below in pgcedit lights up yellow until copy process is completed)
You will repeat this process for the remaining 2 title's ... import in the correct order is not essential , but it is a much more neater practice in the long run .
especially for those reading this for reference later (dont worry , it will be in the guides section soon ... so you dont need to search high and low for it) .
I: When completed , save dvd .
--------------------------------
What we have now is a new dvd containing only the three title's required ... and no other unwanted junk .
--------------------------------
Repeating the previous step , as in playing each vob back in the folder holding the original dvd content (not this new one) .
We need to locate the vob that display's the menu item's .
Once found .
A: Go back to pgcedit .
B: In this projects case , click on first vtst title .
C: Right click on it , and select "Import Menu)
D: The ifo you will import has the same id as the menu vob you just played .
E: When asked , say yes to "copy" ... and wait .
Please make absolutely sure , that this is the correct menu (some dvd structure's carry more than one).
F: Now
I want you to click on each available item in the left pane , and delete ALL nav command's listed to the right , so that none exist within this new project .
G:
Also , I want you to click on any menu that show "b"
Hit CTRL + M
Click the first button , then hit that big bar under the picture .
In new window , up top , select alphabetical , NOP .
That's right ... were killing those commands off as well .
Do this for all button's found within the menu structure .
H: Save dvd when done , and close pgcedit .
The project is now clean of all previous associated issue's ... take a break .
================
================
Now before continuing on , please update that picture with the new content displayed in pgcedit ... hopefully the entire menu as it now stand's within the new dvd project will be fully displayed ... I only need to see the left pane ... not the whole screen shot of pgcedit .
From there I can give you the new nav command set's required to get it working properly . -
Hi,
I have plenty of memory to do the project. Before starting, I recopied with Vobblanker, blanking 6 of the 7 menus (Vtsm1, 7-14), keeping the "Bonus" menu "9b." When I imported the menu, it included the blanked menus. I abbreviated folder-name to "fix"(rather than Bjsfix).
When you put the original dvd into a player for first time, it played a movie clip which flowed into the menu. If we can get this project done successfully, I'd be curious how I could have added the clip, too.
I deleted all commands, here's how the left pane looks:
