  1. I first encoded 3 movies into mpeg for VCD using CCE and then authored them using DVDAuthor GUI. I then burnt them onto a DVD using Nero. The problem is only one of the movies had AC3 audio and the rest had mpa. When i play the disk on my Sony NS 575P DVD player i get sound only on the first movie which had AC3 audio. Does this mean my player doesnt support mpa audio on a dvd? One more thing....When i played the auhthored vob files with Nero Showtime they had sound.

Also.....i would like to know a better Authoring software which has the option of adding subs too and has a better easy way of adding menus.
Is it necessary to demultiplex the audio before authoring in all authoring softwares?

Most likely. mpa support isn't mandatory.

No, most commersial offerings support muxed (A+V) mpg as source.

  3. If you put all three in one title, the mp2 would be second audio track - use the remote to check when playing it in the player.
To explain it a bit this second track is automatically generated from dvdauthor to avoid mix of diferent audio in one track, whick is illegal. Best what you can do in this case in general is to put every vcd in diferent title.

  4. @Abond: Thanks mate. I changed the audio stream with my remote and i get audio now.

But problems dont seem to leave me. Now the first movie which has AC3 audio is giving problems.
When i play it around midway the video just freezes and the audio keeps on playing. The video remains such for 3 mins and then starts playing again. But now the audio is 3 mins ahead and completely out of sync.

The original avi file plays fine.

That an AVI plays fine is no indication of if it's good as source mtrl for reencoding.
Does the mpg encoded from the AC3 AVI play OK on your computer all the way thru?
