    Hi All,

Not sure, if I can raise this question here. Please bear with me.

I am into market to buy a new Camcorder. I wanna buy a camcorder with excellent video quality. In most of the camcorder specs, I see .68 megapixel quality and 1/2/3 CCD. I am wondering about CCD impact on Video Quality.

does CCD impact the Video Picture Quality? or is CCD only mentioned for Still Images?

can anyone provide me with links to topics over this discussion?

    Thank you in Advance,
    Dec Baby

  2. Absolutely.

There are different sizes - larger CCDs can capture more light.

There are different technologies - some are more sensitive than others.

Some cams use one sensor - only a third of the area is used for each color component.

Others use 3 sensors - one for each red, green and blue.

Have a read of this as an example: http://www.kolumbus.fi/oh5iy/astro/Ccd.html

The CCD is like the retina of your eyes. So yes, it impacts picture q.
