My TMPG trial period for MPEG2 has ended and alas, there's still an AVI I'd like to split on two SVCDs. I guess this can be done "manually" using VDub, which I have, and then SUPER, which I also have, but I'm clueless as to what settings to use to ensure the aspect ratio is preserved (In this case 640x320) and the picture ends up displaying in its integrity onscreen.

    Enlighten me please.

Well, I've discovered Nero does a pretty good job at splitting and transcoding, good enough at least for the quality of my source file and of my TV. So I guess the simplest way is Nero.

HCEnc is a far superior encoder to Nero and can do SVC resolution is needed. Just use FitCD to create a simple avisynth script, and feed this to HCEnc for encoding.
