I have been trying to burn a few dvd's, but every attempt is a failed one. They are in Xvid format.
I have gathered that I have to convert my Xvid files into DVD compatable files, so I've been using ConvertXtoDVD. However, every time the dvd is about to finalize, i get an error message and my dvd is ejected.

Also, I have read in a lot of places that this kind of dvd conversion is to be played in Standalone Dvd Players. I don't even know what those are.

Is it possible at all to burn a dvd to play in a regular home dvd player?? This is all I have.

    Please help,
    Thanks in advance

Stand alone DVD players - the type that sit next to your TV, as opposed to the type that sit in your computer.

ConvertXtoDVD usually burns quite well, but you can always just have it write the folders and files required to your HDD, then burn with imgburn instead.

It would be helpful to know what the error message is, as without it there is no way to give you specific advice. At this point it sounds like it is related to either your burner, or the media you are using.

Ok. Now that thats cleared up..

When using ConvertXtoDVD, i get this message just as it begins to finalize:

Exception encoutered in read thread [access violation at adress 032C4F1E in module 'vso_hwe.dll'. Read of address 0000000C]

Maybe if I use SAO burning mode it will work?
