A family member wants me to capture their home videos and place them on dvd. I'm completely capable of capturing with final cut express. I want to retain the original quality and at the same time try to fit as much as 2 hours of video onto DVD-R. I am using iDVD to burn the DVD. What is the best way to do this using final cut express. Is there a certain format I should be converting it to or what? Any advice would be appreicated. Thanks.

    IF you are using FCE:
    1. Edit video as necessary
    2. Save Edited Project as Quicktime Movie
    3. import into iDVD, and use a minimum Menu,
not so heavy on the navigation animations/movies,
to give you more bitrate for your actual video.
    4. Burn.

I haven't used iDVD in a long while, but IIRC that is the gist
    of it.

What version are you using Mike?
Apple says iDVD6 will allow 2 hours of content
