    Hi,

I got a DVD9 Movie which is about 6-8GIG, I want to backup with as Good quality as Possible, by as good as possible I mean as a Human Eyes could notice.

    DVD9(6-8gig) Shrink to DVD5(4GIG)

    OR

    DVD9(6-8gig) Shrink to XVID(4GIG)

    Which one give better quality?

The latter, I'd say, as XviD is a more efficient codec than mpg2.

Hi - Please check that your player can handle files with size beyond 2GB (2048MB)!

Yes, there are many playback restrictions that may apply (bitrate, frame size, file size) depending on playback device, but if pure quality is the concern, I'd think "any" mpg4 codec wins hands down.

    So XVID would be better?
I'm aware of the 2gig limit, I'll split them to 1.9gig before burning.
