Hello there I have searched the forum for an answer to my problem, however there seem to be similar problem fixes to this but not the same problem as mine.

I have an AVI file, its a japanese audio with english subtitles. The subtitles play fine on the file when using windows media player however when I convert the file to DVD using WinAVI the VOB file is perfectly watchable only the subtitles have gone! Also when I simply try to load my AVI into Nero Burning rom and burn it that way the subtitles are still gone.

I am aware that some subtitles are perma burnt into the video stream and are part of the video stream. Some of my files must be like that because I have other anime that burns and subtitles show up in the final result. I have been told that some subtitles are 'soft' subtitles and are not actually part of the video, they are part of the file and windows media player plays them along with the video.

How do I burn my AVI file and have the subtitles not disappear on me? Or How do I make the subtitles in my AVI perma?

Extract the subtitles from the avi with avimuxgui.
Convert to a dvd with switchable subtitles using ConvertXtoDVD, add the avi and the subtitle file.

Ok New problem. When I try to convert in ConvertXtoDVD with the subtitle file added to the AVI file I get the following error

Exception raised in conversion thread with the message "floating point division by zero"

However if i try to convert to DVD without adding the subtitle file (ssa file) It converts just fine.
