I converted two .avi files from the same source to MPEG-2, integrating an .srt file (also from the same source) with each. When I play the VIDEO-TS file in DVD Player, the subtitles show up, but the video itself doesn't play--there's only a black screen. The audio works. The avi files do play in mplayer, with the subtitles. Does anyone know what happened? Thanks.

It recognizes the source as an .avi with the following video properties: msmpeg4, yuv420p, 640x352Originally Posted by Case
Mpeg2enc.Which DVD preset did you select? The mpeg2enc one of the ffmpeg one?
Quicktime.Which decoder was selected in the Options tab? QuickTime/mplayer/ffmpeg?

QuickTime (without Perian) might have some problems decoding msmpeg4. Try again using decoding with mplayer or ffmpeg (=quicktime and mplayer de-selected), or install the Perian QuickTime component.Originally Posted by Kagredon
