showing in device manager video editing tools not recognizing

I have the Belking F5U503 and I have the drivers, in the device manager it's installed properlly and said it's working (there's no ? next to it) but I downloaded Ulead VideoStudio, Windows Movie Maker and WinDV and DVIO all won't work. None of them are showing that my camera is connected. I have it hooked up through the i.link to the FireWire Card. The Cam is a Panasonic MiniDV model PV-DV701D. Anyone know what might be the prob? Disconnect the camera .

Turn pc off .
Power camera from the supplied power adapter .
Turn camera on , and to the correct mode .
Connect ieee cable to pc card .
Turn pc on ... and it should pick the device up ... it's like having a tunnel ... but the lights arent on between the two side's yet .

And this is the correct order to connect the device to the pc ... do it the other way has been known to cause problem's for camera and / or pc ... the manufacturer's have noted this on site .

You may also need to check you have the ieee patch for your current os , and I think there was another , that safe removal device tool as well you need ... do the update NOW ... they'll be gone sooner than later .

Finally , what directx version are you currently running ?

What about the camera's driver's ?
Check they are compatible with your current os ... if not ... that's a problem .

I'll try that. I just installed the latest drivers for the camera from the website and I downloaded the drivers for the firewire card today from their site so it should all be the most updated possible.

This didn't work, any other ideas? I've emailed Panasonic twice now with no response since I posted this
