S-Video out to pc capture device .

But that depend's on what output's are available ... audio as well .

That picture isnt the best ... so I cannot see clearly the inputs / outputs ... output's mainly .

Dose it not have IEEE 1394 Interface ? ... that would require a firewire / ieee pci card , unless your motherboard has one included .

  3. yeh-the picture quality suck...had to take it with my cell phone...

there is not a 1394 IEEE interface on the deck...is that card still available?...

on the back of the deck are the : RS-232C port, S-video in/outs, BNC in/outs, rca audio in/outs.

are there any cards that have a BNC connector on them?

If the interface accept's ieee via an adapter , then yes , there still available ... but expensive .

I seen one recently , complete unit with ieee , and keep going past $3k for it ... other's about but as dear as the first .

I dont see any other option other than to use a capture device , either usb or pci ... even vivo , as being a cheaper method of getting video from that device to the pc

I had a similar problem with these tape's and went with a converter , so it could be captured from the vcr .

    These things : http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?A=search&ci=4148&Q=&O=NavBar

A sight cheaper in the long run .

Your remaining issue is a capture device , you could almost pick anything ... if cpu is 2400mhz , with sp2 , then for exceptional quality , and no hassle's like other's ...

I would suggest a visit to http://www.aver.com/2005home/product/videocapture/videocapture.shtml ... the dvd ezy pci unit is a very good performer ... the usb beat's it in picture quality ... but there are caution's to be aware of when it come's donw to device's powered directly from the pc's usb power supply .

My last avertv usb2 (nolonger made) from avermedia required 2 amp's ... in no way is this connected directly to the pc ... it gose via a self powered usb hub , then to pc ... or risk damaging the pc usb chipset .

    ======================

    BNC connector ... wtf ?

Where the , and what the ... , that's really old and not supported .

Depend's on what they intended that feature for ... network setup I suppose ... though you would need the manual to be sure of the setup ... older network product's dont mix well with the newer type's ... I have had my fair share of going bald over people using those idiot isa network card's with bnc connector's ... thankfully isa gone .

You can get the adapter's for bnc to the newer network type's , but without the manual , there's no way of knowing the correct setup .

That Deck has an IEEE-1394 option. Call Panasonic or research the manual to find part number then search ebay, etc. for a used one.

Other alternatives capture from S-Video or composite (if available) or buy a SDI import card for your computer. Serial Digital SMPTE-259m is an uncompressed 270Mb/s stream so you will need a 2 disc RAID zero minimum for capture from SDI.
