Can anyone suggest cheap or open source software for watching tv.
The tv cable is processed by a Canopus ADVC and sends the signal to my pc firewire 1394 port.
Most software I have looked at does capturing and time shifting etc. Don't really need this as all I want to do is watch the tv broadcasts so ideally would use a software application with a very low cpu footprint as I have other apps that use a lot of CPU running at the same time (Velotron).
Prefer low cost or open source solutions. Running XP fully updated with reasonably specced grpahics card.
Thanks, John.

Yes - use our Enosoft DV Processor.
Simply select the Canopus as the input.
Choose Video Renderer as output.
Press Run.
It will display the video in a window (that can be resized, moved, made full-screen, use a second display if you have one) and the audio will be rendered, too.
And, since cost is a factor, I might as well spill the beans now....
It's currently in beta but I expect only one more beta release later this month.
After that, it will be formally released and - will be free for personal use!John Miller
