can anybody advise how i can convert a movie downloaded to my pc by skybybroadband so i can play on my normal dvd player on the domestic tv

Hi,
I'm not familiar with this service. However presuming your contract with Sky allows you to transfer downloaded movies to DVD:
Can you please state what format the downloaded movie is in - AVI ? MPEG 1/2 ? Other ?
In general you will need to re-encode your video file to a (DVD compliant) MPEG2 file, using a video encoder (see the tools section on the left).
Then you can load this MPEG2 file into a DVD authoring software (see tools again) and create the necessary DVD files (.bup .ifo .vob).
Then you can use a burning software (tools) to burn to a blank disc.
