At CES in Las Vegas, Samsung has announced the SC-HMX10:

January 7, 2006 - Samsung announced their first high definition camcorder today: the SC-HMX10 is a compact camcorder that records high def video to SD or MMC memory cards or the 4MB of built-in memory.

Does anybody have a link to more detailed specifications?

Does this model have an external microphone input jack?

i understand no external mic input - and it doesnt use AVCHD, but some other higher compression format?


seems expensive - but people will buy cus it is "neat"

They're now saying this model should never have been announced.

What kind of goofed up internal marketing snafu was that?

Anyway they're now talking about a summer announcement.

and just how much HD video do you think would fit on that 4mb of internal memory? hehe. clowns. maybe the marketing department designed that camera by itself.

i expect that they would think you would buy a 2 or 4 Gb memory card - which would hold a fair bit w/ the high compression they are using ....

of course these are not really truly editable other than chop and hack - then again that is not the market they are targeting ...
